Adding Animals

Adding Your First Animal

1. Navigate to the Animals section from the sidebar
2. Click the Add Animal button
3. Enter the animal's basic information:
   • Name or identifier
   • Tag number (ear tag, brand, etc.)
   • Species and breed
   • Date of birth (if known)
   • Sex
4. Select which herd the animal belongs to
5. Upload a photo (optional but recommended)
6. Click Save

Animal Details You Can Track

FarmFlo allows you to record comprehensive information about each animal:

• Identification: Name, tag numbers, brands, tattoos
• Physical: Breed, color, markings, weight
• Lineage: Sire, dam, offspring
• Health: Vaccinations, treatments, medical notes
• Status: Active, sold, deceased, etc.
• Notes: Any additional information

Health Records

Keep detailed health records for each animal:

• Record vaccinations with dates and products
• Track treatments and medications
• Log veterinary visits
• Note any health concerns or observations
• Set reminders for upcoming treatments

Tips for Animal Management

• Use consistent naming or numbering conventions
• Add photos to help identify animals quickly
• Keep health records up to date
• Record important dates (birth, purchase, etc.)
• Use notes for anything unusual or noteworthy
